Kieran Hanlon

 Kieran J. Hanlon is Assistant Professor of Double Bass and Jazz at The State University of New York at Fredonia.  He is also Principal Bass of the Erie Philharmonic, and a member of the Chautauqua Symphony bass section.  An avid jazz player, Kieran is also a frequent collaborator with jazz artists across New York State and Pennsylvania as well as overseas.  Kieran is also an in demand chamber music bassist, performing frequently with his colleagues at Fredonia and in chamber music festivals.  Kieran holds an M.M. in Double Bass Performance from the Eastman School of Music, and both a B.M. in Double Bass Performance and a B.F.A. in Jazz Studies: Bass from The University of Michigan.  In his free time, Kieran enjoys working on his house and Jeeps, and spending time with his wife, clarinetist Elizabeth Hanlon and their greyhound Jay.
